Actor Tommy Chong Says Bernie Sanders Rescinded Invite To Speak At Rally
EAST LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Did Tommy Chong just get burnt by Bernie Sanders?
The actor best known for his stoner character in the "Cheech & Chong" movies has been an ardent supporter of the Sanders campaign.
But according to Chong, the feeling is no longer mutual.
Unfortunately after months of support and endorsement videos, I have to report that @BernieSanders pulled away his invite to me.

In a post to his Twitter account Monday, Chong said, "Unfortunately after months of support and endorsement videos, I have to report that @BernieSanders pulled away his invite to me."
The announcement was made minutes after Chong said Sanders invited him to speak at a planned campaign rally at Lincoln Park in East Los Angeles.
The 77-year-old Chong noted that East L.A. is "an area that I have lots of local fans and roots in."

There was no immediate confirmation from the Sanders campaign.
Chong has been one of Sanders' most high-profile supporters since recording a PSA for the campaign back in January.
