$564 Million Powerball Jackpot Split Among 3 Winning Tickets

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Lottery officials say three tickets were sold matching all six numbers in Wednesday's Powerball draw.

With a nationwide buying frenzy, the jackpot reached $564 million by draw time.

Authorities said the winning tickets were sold in (get ready to be jealous) Texas, North Carolina and Puerto Rico.

In Calfornia, three ticket holders had five of five numbers, or all the numbers but the Powerball, including one location in Cypress. Each of those ticket holders is expected to win $1.4 million+ each. Two tickets were sold in Mono and Alameda counties.

The Cypress location is a 7-Eleven at 4502 East Lincoln Ave.

The winners numbers selected Wednesday were 11, 13, 25, 39, 54. The Powerball number was 19.

Wednesday's jackpot was the third-largest of all time and the largest Powerball jackpot since August 2013.

California's biggest Powerball winner to date won $425.3 million in February 2014. That was the game's fourth-biggest ever prize.

The $2 Powerball game is played in 43 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Powerball starts at $40 million and climbs every time there is no winner. The record jackpot reached $590 million in May 2013. That ticket was sold in Florida.

CBS2's Michele Gile reported from "a lucky place" in Little Saigon in Westminster.

Gile said people were coming in and out of Gallop Liquor all day. Several thousand tickets were sold there Wednesday.

She spoke to a man named Andre who was certain he had the winner in his hand.

"Yes, I have the winner," he said, "today is the birthday of my son." Andre also said he planned on buying a house with his winnings. "And a Lamborghini," he added.
