$5,000 In Illegal Fireworks Seized In Long Beach

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A man was cited after police seized more than 454 pounds of illegal fireworks estimated at a street value about $5,ooo, authorities said Tuesday.

Long Beach police said Derek Quintana, 30, of Compton was cited on suspicion of selling illegal fireworks after a post online lead police to him

All fireworks are illegal in Long Beach, including those labeled safe and sane. Conviction on possession of illegal fireworks carries a penalty of $1,000 and the possibility of six months in jail.
