5 Things You Can Only Do In Orange County

Here is a look at some great ways to spend a day in the OC. It is of little wonder that Anaheim is the smallest U.S. city to house a major league baseball team; the support from the surrounding OC communities has always been tremendous. Avoid the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles; take advantage of the many activities available in Orange County. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Go To Disneyland

While not exactly a secret, Disneyland Park is too grand not to mention. Since opening in July of 1955, its popularity seems to increase every day. There were roughly 28,000 guests on opening day in 1955, and the numbers have gone steadily up since then. This is the jewel of Orange County, and its worldwide popularity contributes heavily to the local economy. As holidays and weekends can be quite crowded, it is advised that Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are the best days to attend. Disneyland is something everyone should do at least once in their life. If you are not into theme parks, the many shops and restaurants in the Downtown Disney area outside the park are also worth the trip.

From the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach, the Ferry, which has been in operation since 1919, allows access to pedestrians, wheelchairs, vehicles, motorcycles and bicycles. After a short scenic trip across the water, you will have access to the quaint marina area, as well as the sidewalk cafes and specialty shops of Balboa Island. There is also the option of renting kayaks and jet skis. This is a great way to spend the day.
