Fire Near Hemet Scorches About 80 Acres

HEMET (CBSLA.com) — A brush fire Wednesday in the Aguanga community near Hemet burned about 80 acres, officials said.

The Sabina Fire was first reported at 10:47 a.m. at Sabina Drive and Ballinger Road, according to Calfire.

More than 220 firefighters, three helicopters, six air tankers and four bulldozers fought the blaze.

The fire burned at a moderate rate, and full containment was expected by midnight, authorities said.

The California Highway Patrol, the U.S. Forest Service and the Riverside County Fire Department assisted Calfire.

No evacuations were ordered.
