1 Killed After Car Flips Over On 405 Freeway Offramp

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — A man was killed and four other people were critically injured in a crash on the Olympic Boulevard offramp from the southbound 405 Freeway in West Los Angeles.

The crash happened at about 4 a.m., leaving one car on its roof, on top of a guardrail and wedged against a light pole. A man in his 20s was ejected from his car and declared dead at the scene, while four other people who were passengers in the car were taken to hospitals in critical condition.

According to the preliminary investigation, the late-model Lexus SUV went out of control, possibly while speeding, and overturned on the offramp.

The offramp was closed for several hours for the fatal crash investigation and cleanup.
