3 Stabbed, Including Suspect, During Fight At Baseball Game In Ventura

VENTURA (CBSLA.com) —  Authorities said three men -- including the suspect -- were stabbed at a youth baseball game at a park in Ventura Sunday.

Ventura Police received numerous 911 calls of about a physical fight, with individuals being stabbed, around 4 p.m. in Harry A. Lyon Park in the 2000 block of Cameron St.

Patrol officers, along with Ventura City Fire and AMR personnel, responded to the call and initially found two stabbing victims -- both males, one 38 and the other 19.

KCAL9's Jennifer Kastner  said the 19-year-old has life-threatening injuries. The 38-year-old male, the teen's father, has serious injuries. Both were stabbed in the upper torso.

Hours after the stabbings, Kastner said a pile of bloody clothes remained on scene.

A 21-year-old male -- described as the suspect in the attack -- was also stabbed and was found a short distance from the park in front of a school. Police said he was also suffering from several life-threatening stab wounds.

The 21-year-old suspect has been taken into custody.

Kastner said another man was also taken into custody for questioning. He may also be a suspect in the attack, Kastner reported.

Ventura Police Department Major Crimes Detectives are conducting interviews with witnesses. The park was reportedly "filled" at the time of the stabbings.

"It's unfortunate that some people have to ruin it [for others]," said Commander Tom Higgins with the Ventura Police Department, "People were just enjoying themselves on  a Sunday watching a kids' baseball game."

Anyone with information about this crime, or possibly has cell phone footage of the incident, is asked to contact Detective Corporal Casey Sutherland at (805) 339-4467.
