1 dead, 3 hospitalized following multi-vehicle crash in Garden Grove

One person was killed and three others hospitalized following a four-car crash in Garden Grove. 

Both Garden Grove Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority squads rushed to the scene after learning of the crash, which occurred in near the intersection of Century Boulevard and Nelson Street just after 3:30 p.m. 

All four victims were taken to nearby hospitals due to undisclosed injuries, one of which is said to have succumbed to injuries after arrival, according to GGPD.

The identify of the deceased patient, a 52-year-old man, has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The conditions of the other three patients are not currently known. 

The surrounding area was expected to be closed for several hours due to the ongoing investigation. Officers are unsure whether drugs and alcohol are a factor in the collision.
