3.4-magnitude earthquake hits Huntington Beach

A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck near Huntington Beach Friday night.

The tremor originated 1.86 miles southeast of Orange County city at about 9:52 p.m., according to the United States Geological Survey. It had a depth of about 7.77 miles.

The local fire department did not enter earthquake mode.
