25-year-old woman killed by hit-and-run driver in Bellflower

A 25-year-old woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run late Sunday evening in Bellflower. 

It happened at around 11 p.m. near Downey Avenue and the 91 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol. 

They say that the woman, who has since been identified as Loren Carroll by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, was changing a tire and facing the highway when she was struck. 

She was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Investigators were unable to provide a description of the suspect or call involved in the collision.
