22-year-old woman killed, three people trapped after car crashes into tree in Colton

Police are investigating a deadly single-car crash that happened in Colton late Friday evening. 

It happened at around 11:30 p.m. in the 300 block of W. Mill Street, according to the Colton Police Department. 

They were sent to the area after learning of the single-car crash and arrived to find that a car had slammed into a tree on the side of the road, trapping four of the occupants inside, police said. 

"Officers and fire personnel arrived on scene and discovered the vehicle had collided into a tree, with four individuals trapped inside the vehicle," said a statement from police. 

They were able to extricate the people from within, all four of which were taken to nearby hospitals for injuries sustained in the carsh. 

The driver, identified as 22-year-old Colton woman Reana Camacho, died after arriving at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, police said. The other three passengers suffered minor to moderate injuries.

Investigators are still working to determine what caused the crash.
