2 Suspects In Custody After Leading Officers On High-Speed Pursuit Along 5 Freeway

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Officers took two suspects into custody near Griffith Park Tuesday following a high-speed pursuit along the southbound 5 Freeway.

The pursuit began near Santa Clarita at around 2:30 p.m. as California Highway Patrol officers received a report of a possible stolen vehicle.

Officers chased the white pickup truck along the 5 Freeway at speeds approaching 100 mph.

The suspects' vehicle hit an SUV as they were exiting the freeway in the Griffith Park area. The LA Fire Department was on scene assisting an elderly woman who appeared to be in the SUV at the time of the crash.

After exiting the freeway, the driver and passenger attempted to evade officers on foot.

Officers arrested both suspects in the Los Feliz area.
