$2 Million Mega Millions Ticket Sold In West Hollywood

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) —  The streets of Hollywood are now paved with gold -- for one person who matched 5 of 6 numbers in Tuesday's Mega Millions draw.

That lucky ticket holder will pocket more than $2 million -- specifically $2,247, 129.

The winning ticket was sold near the Laugh Factory at the Chevron station located at 8101 W. Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles.

The ticket matched the numbers 3, 42, 46, 56 and 71, missing only the Mega 13.

No tickets sold with the winning Mega number, so the Friday jackpot rolls to at least $87 million.

Four Californians had 4 numbers and the mega and will each get $4,917.

The 1 Mega Millions game is played in 44 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Mega Millions jackpot starts at $15 million and climbs every time there is no winner. The record jackpot went to $656 million in March 2012.

Three ticket holders -- including one in Chino Hills, California -- recently split the record Powerball jackpot of $1.6 billion.
