2 Men Plead Not Guilty In Fatal Shooting Of California Boy
HIGHLAND (AP) — Prosecutors say two men have pleaded not guilty to murder charges in the shooting of a 4-year-old California boy who was playing in his grandmother's yard.
The San Bernardino District Attorney's Office said Monday that Darron Daniels and Maurice Kelley also denied charges of attempted murder.
Authorities say they were gunning for two other people in a car when Daniel Munoz was struck Wednesday in Highland.
The boy was playing with a stuffed bear he called Superman when he was shot.
His aunt said the boy fell face-down when he was struck. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The defendants are due back in court Aug. 11. They are being held on $2 million bail.
