West Hills Couple Killed In Motor Home Crash Identified

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A couple from West Hills died when their 2010 Fleetwood motorhome towing a Jeep hit a fence, clipped a fire hydrant and smashed into a wall bordering the Browns Canyon Wash flood control channel in Canoga Park.

City fire spokesman Brian Humphrey says the full-sized RV was found teetering over Browns Canyon Wash in Canoga Park Monday afternoon.

The occupants were identified Tuesday as Charles Meehleis, 84, and Rosalyn Meehleis, 82, coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said. Both suffered traumatic injuries in the crash.

Diesel fuel leaked from the vehicle and water sprayed from the hydrant.

No other vehicles were involved.
