2 Killed, 2 Injured In Lynwood After Vehicle Crashes Into Tree
LYNWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Deputies Monday were on the scene of a deadly traffic collision.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, deputies were sent around 1 a.m. to the intersection of Atlantic and Charlin avenues for report of a traffic collision.
A preliminary investigation revealed a driver lost control of their vehicle while traveling southbound on Atlantic Avenue.
The car went into a spin and struck a tree on the west sidewalk of Atlantic Avenue, then jumped over the sidewalk curb, slid across a parking lot and finally stopped against a building, detectives explained.
A man and a woman were subsequently ejected from the back seat. Officials do not believe they were wearing seat belts. Their identities are being withheld pending family notification.
Deputies said the driver and front seat passenger, both women, were transported to a hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
All four victims were believed to be in their 20s, officials reported.
Traffic investigators remained on scene to determine the circumstances that led to the crash. It remains unclear if speed or alcohol were involved.
