2 Dead, 2 Seriously Injured In Early Morning Industry Crash
INDUSTRY (CBSLA.com) — Two people were killed and two others were left traumatically injured early Saturday when a speeding car flew off a freeway in the City of Industry.
The crash occurred at 2:43 a.m. on the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway, at its interchange with the 605 Freeway, according to a CHP incident report.
The motorist, Diego Martinez, 24, of Ontario, was going east on the 60 in a 2006 Toyota Scion TC, when he apparently lost control of the car.
The vehicle swerved across all lanes, flew off the roadway and then hit a tree, according to the CHP.
Paramedics were dispatched at 3:08 a.m. and rushed two people with "traumatic" injuries to a hospital, said a Los Angeles County Fire Department
dispatcher. The driver, Martinez, was one of the traumatically injured. The other was a 45-year-old woman, also from Ontario, according to the CHP.
Two other people were pronounced dead at the scene: a 23-year-old woman from Ontario, and a 49-year-old man from Baldwin Park.
Their names will be released pending notification of next of kin, said Coroner's Lt. Dave Smith.
