17-Year-Old Driver Dies After Losing Control Of BMW, Striking Light Pole In Pasadena

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say they are investigating a single-vehicle crash that unfolded overnight Sunday and claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy.

Police said the accident near Seco Street happened just before 2:50 a.m. after the driver of a silver 2002 BMW 330i lost control and struck a light pole.

The unidentified driver, described as a white male, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the sole occupant in the car.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Police said the driver's name was being withheld pending notification of loved ones.
