2 dead, 4 injured in wrong-way crash on 134 Freeway in Pasadena

Two people were killed on Sunday during a fiery collision caused by a wrong-way driver on the 134 Freeway in Pasadena according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident took place around 8:10 a.m. on the westbound side of the freeway near North San Rafael Avenue, officers said.

Though exact circumstances leading up to the collision remain unclear, CHP says that it was a wrong-way driver incident. 

The man who died at the scene has since been identified as 31-year-old William Yost. The second deceased victim, who died after being taken to a nearby hospital, has not been identified. Of the four other injured victims, officers say that three were in moderate condition while one suffered minor injury.

A SigAlert issued for the westbound freeway at Orange Grove Boulevard was lifted at around 1:30 p.m. 

Video from the scene shared by civilians on the Citizen app show massive traffic congestion in the area due to the ongoing investigation.
