1 hospitalized after three-vehicle crash involving big rig on I-15 near Temecula

One person was hospitalized in a three-vehicle crash involving a big rig on I-15 just south of Temecula on Monday. 

The crash happened just after 1 p.m. on northbound lanes near Rainbow Valley Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol. 

Circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear, but officers say that a Chevrolet Spark, a Volvo and a semi truck were all involved. All three of the involved parties stopped in the slow lane following the crash. 

Paramedics with the Riverside County Fire Department transported one person to a hospital for treatment on minor injuries. It's unclear if they were a driver or occupant of one of the vehicles. 

As CHP officers continued their investigation into the crash, traffic on the freeway was expected to remain impacted.
