1 dead, 4 hospitalized after multi-car crash in San Bernardino County

One person is dead and four others hospitalized after a multi-car crash in Colton late Saturday evening. 

The crash happened at around 8:45 p.m. in the 600 block of W. Laurel Street, where officers were dispatched after learning of the incident, according to the Colton Police Department. 

Officers and Colton Fire Department paramedics arrived on scene to find two different cars that had crashed into a parked car on the side of the road, the statement said. 

"The driver of one of the involved vehicles, was found suffering from life-threatening injuries," CPD said. "The male was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC), where he succumbed to his injuries."

The victim, a 32-year-old Colton man, has not yet been identified. 

Four other occupants of the other car were also hospitalized after suffering minor injuries, police said. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
