2 Killed, Teen In Stable Condition Following Car Crash Into Yard Of Anaheim Home

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — Investigators Monday were trying to determine if a crash that killed two people and injured a teenage boy was deliberate.

The crash occurred just after 10 p.m. in the 800 block of East Street, Anaheim police said.

A Cadillac was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on East Street when it hit two parked cars and flipped over, crashing through a cement wall and landing upside down in a home's backyard.

The driver, 23-year-old Hector Manzo, and his 33-year-old girlfriend, Georgina Gallegos were ejected from the vehicle. Gallegos was pronounced dead at the scene, while Manzo died at UC Irvine Medical Center, according to authorities.

Gallegos' 15-year-old son, who rescuers freed from the wreckage, was also transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Witnesses reported seeing the couple arguing inside the vehicle prior to the crash.

"We're trying to figure out the facts for the collision. If it were an intentional act where he intended to collide with the cars that were parked in anger or if for some reason he lost control," Lt. Tim Schmidt said.

Authorities plan to interview the teenager before they released more information.

A dog was also killed in the accident.
