Hours-long standoff evacuates In-N-Out restaurant in Foothill Ranch
A suspect who barricaded himself in a car in the parking lot of an In-N-Out restaurant in Foothill Ranch for several hours Wednesday night, forcing the evacuation of the store, was finally arrested.
The suspect was finally taken into custody at around midnight in the In-N-Out parking lot at the intersection of Towne Centre Drive and Alton Parkway.
The incident began at about 8:20 p.m. when Orange County Sheriff's deputies were called about a restraining order violation in Mission Viejo.
The suspect lead deputies on a short 20-minute pursuit that ended in the In-N-Out parking lot, where he refused to exit his car.
The area was evacuated and nearby streets were closed. Deputies used a small drone to hover over the suspect's vehicle and look inside the sunroof.
The man also appeared to have his own bullhorn, which he was using to communicate with deputies.
SWAT, along with crisis negotiators and a mental health unit were brought in.
The suspect was eventually taken into custody. His name was not immediately released.
There were no injuries.

Authorities with the OC Sheriff's Department report that crisis negotiators are at the scene of the standoff, along with a responding mental health unit.
So far, no injuries have been reported.
