AP projects Californians have rejected a tax increase on the state's richest residents.

CA voters vote to pass Prop 31, ban sale of flavored tobacco
AP projects California residents have rejected a ban on certain flavored tobacco products.
California lawmakers passed the ban two years ago, claiming that fruit and candy-flavored e-cigarettes, vape pods and chewing tobacco encouraged teens to get hooked on nicotine. According to the official ballot argument, supports claimed that 80% of kids who have smoked started with a flavored tobacco product.
