Wyandotte Woman Charged In Stabbing Murder Of Elderly Wayne Man

WAYNE (WWJ) - A 47-year-old Wyandotte woman has been charged in the stabbing death of an elderly man in the city of Wayne.

The killing occurred just before 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, at the man's home 35000-block of Brush Street, according to Wayne police.

Responding officers found the man 74-year-old resident — described by police as a white male — with a stab wound, and Kyla Juane Nundley was arrested at the scene.

Following an investigation she was arraigned Sunday morning on a charge of second degree murder. A not guilty plea was entered on her behalf.

Police aren't talking about a possible motive and, in general, are not releasing much information about the case. In an interview with Hometownlife.com, Sgt. Matt Spunar, would not describe the type of weapon was used in the stabbing, but did say Nundley was "an acquaintance" of the victim.

Nundley remains held on a $50,000 cash bond and is due in 29th District Court for a probable cause conference on Tuesday, Oct. 20.

The victim's name has not been released.
