Comic book heroes rejoice! Wonder Woman is here to save the day. With her amazing athletic ability, brilliant fighting techniques, and her extraordinary intellectual prowess, she's fighting for…

Women and Girls!

On October 21st, as part of the 75th anniversary of the super hero, former and current Wonder Women Lynda Carter and Gal Gadot (respectively) attended the ceremony as Wonder Woman was named an Honorary Ambassador for one of the United Nation's (U.N) Sustainable Development Goals: gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.

"The Sustainable Development Goals are among the most ambitious adopted by the UN and require the widest awareness and support not only among governments, but also among peoples of the world," said Cristina Gallach, U.N. Under-Secretary-General for Communications and Public Information. "Wonder Woman will help us reach a broad audience to stand up for action on improving gender equality."

A feminist icon who represents justice and equality, Princess Diana's (Wonder Woman) main objective is to promote peace, as well as to stop wrong-doers. Through the U.N's initiative, she'll do just that while being a positive role model for all.

"The greatest honor and responsibility of playing Wonder Woman was serving as a role model for fans around the world, particularly girls," said Lynda Carter. "I've seen first-hand how a powerful yet compassionate superhero can inspire women to believe in themselves and men to support equality."

Joining the dynamic duo at the event were Diane Nelson, president of DC Entertainment, and Wonder Woman film director Patty Jenkins.
