Woman Says She Was Raped By 'Good Samaritan' After Her Car Ran Out Of Gas [VIDEO]

REDFORD TWP. (WWJ) - Police say a woman was sexually assaulted by a stranger who provided help after her car ran out of gas along a popular Wayne County road in the middle of the night.

The incident happened around 4 a.m. last Sunday when the woman's car broke down on 7 Mile Road near Beech Daly Road in Redford Township.

The woman, who is reportedly 48-years-old, told police she tried calling a few friends first but eventually accepted a ride from a stranger after she couldn't find anyone else to help.

According to police, the man drove the woman to a gas station a mile away at Beech Daly and 8 Mile roads, where she filled a gasoline container. The man took the woman back to her car where she filled up the gas tank and went on her way.

As reported by WXYZ, the woman was able to drive until she was just a few blocks away from her home, where her car broke down again. There was still some gas left in the container, so the woman got out of her car and attempted to refill her vehicle when she realized the "good Samaritan" who helped her earlier was right behind her.

"Somehow he was still following me. I wasn't paying attention. I was just trying to get home," the woman told WXYZ. "I was so scared because my back was to him... He put the gun up to my head. He was already choking me. He took my clothes off and raped me."

When the man was finished, the woman said he told her not to move and then he drove off into the night.

Police were able to obtain surveillance footage from the gas station, which shows the suspect's vehicle -- a dark-colored, four-door sedan missing a rear driver's side hubcap. The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s with a stocky build.

Anyone with information on the incident or the suspect is urged to contact police at 313-387-2555 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
