CBS DETROIT - Former Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz and the Buffalo Bills could find themselves playing at Ford Field for the second time this season, according to reports by ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.
With Buffalo buried under five feet of snow that fell this week, the Bills (5-5) canceled practice for the second straight day Thursday. The Bills initially offered $10 per hour and free tickets to people who would help shovel snow around the stadium for Sunday's game against the New York Jets (2-8), but it now appears that game will have to be played elsewhere.
New York governor Andrew Cuomo told ESPN as much Thursday.
"At this point in time, doing what we have to do with the driving ban and everything we just said - staying off the roads - would make a Bills game impractical," Cuomo said, per ESPN. "So if you ask me today, right now, my two cents would be it would be impractical to do the game because it could jeopardize public safety."
With the Lions playing on the road this weekend, Ford Field appears to be one of the more likely locations for the game, according to Schefter, Rapoport and others.
The Bills defeated the Lions, 17-14, at Ford Field back in early October.
