West Bloomfield Synagogue To Host Homeless For A Week

WEST BLOOMFIELD (AP) — A suburban Detroit synagogue will provide temporary shelter for the homeless for a week.

Temple Shir Shalom in West Bloomfield will host 30 men, women and children from Dec. 11-18.

They will be picked up each evening during the week at the South Oakland County Shelter and taken to the temple where they will eat and sleep.

Members of the temple's congregation will prepare all of the visitors' meals and provide on-site supervision throughout the night. Each morning the homeless will be returned to the shelter.

West Bloomfield is northwest of Detroit.
