Waterford Police: Medical Condition Might Have Led To Fatal Crash

WATERFORD TWP. (WWJ) - Authorities say a 76-year-old man has died after crashing his car in Waterford Township.

The crash happened just after 8 a.m. Monday near the area of Elizabeth Lake and Cooley Lake roads.

Investigators say Howard Moshier was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox westbound on Elizabeth Lake Road when he likely suffered some type of medical condition and left the roadway. The SUV struck two parked vehicles at the nearby Lakes Auto Dealer before coming to a rest.

Moshier, who was wearing his seatbelt, was rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported.

Police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Anyone who might have witnessed the crash is urged to contact police at 248-618-6059.
