WATCH: Michigan State 'Disrespect' Playoff Hype Video

Despite all the success that the Michigan State football program has seen over recent years under that command of Mark Dantonio, the one thing it still struggles with is gaining respect from the national -- and even sometimes local -- media.

That has been a rallying cry used by Dantonio for some time now to get the best out of his players in big games. Now that the Spartans are on the biggest national stage in college football, fans and media alike have no choice but to pay attention to the Spartans.

Michigan State student Dan Stephens put together a video showcasing some of the best moments of Spartan disrespect from the past year. That includes many analysts predicting that Michigan State's dominance in the Big Ten -- and the state of Michigan -- would come to an end due to the arrival of Jim Harbaugh in Ann Arbor.

The video culminates with a vast majority of experts and students picking Alabama to beat the Spartans on New Year's Eve in the College Football Playoff's semifinal, the Cotton Bowl.

However, it leaves viewers with a sense of hope, showing all of the times people counted out the Spartans in their toughest moments as Dantonio's message rings out...

"Reach higher."
