Video Captures Deadly Shooting In Detroit: Who's The Gunman In The White Lincoln?

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for the suspect who was caught on a surveillance camera unloading an AK-47 into another vehicle, killing the man inside.

The shooting took place around 8:20 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26 outside of Farmer John's Market on Harper Avenue at Gratiot Avenue, just north of I-94 on the city's east side.

According to police, the 25-year-old victim was sitting in his van, waiting on a friend, when a white Lincoln MKZ pulled up next to his vehicle and opened fire with an AK-47. The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was shot several times and was declared dead at the scene.

Video from outside of the building shows the Lincoln, believed to be a 2014 or 2015 model year, pulling into the parking lot before driving out of frame. About 15 seconds later, another vehicle enters the lot and the Lincoln emerges from the shadows. The Lincoln drives over to where the vehicle has parked and stops behind it for about seven seconds. As the Lincoln is stopped, a vehicle originally parked next to the victim's van leaves the parking lot. At that time, the Lincoln circles the lot, pulls into the vacated spot next to the victim's van and briefly pauses before speeding away westbound on Harper. It's during this pause that police say the fatal shots were fired.

Anyone with information on the suspect or the shooting is asked to contact police at 313-596-2260 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
