Victoria's Secret Closing The Book On Famed Catalog

DETROIT (CBS DETROIT) - A collective gasp and possibly a tear shed by men around the county as Victoria's Secret announces the departure of the famed VS catalog in the near future.

When sales didn't take a hit during a test period decreasing the volume of catalogs mailed by nearly 40 percent -- Victoria's Secret started an elimination diet.

At a cost of roughly $2 a catalog - Victoria's Secret will stop producing and mailing up to 300 million copies of the iconic catalog.

Victoria's Secret will also eliminate some of its product line -- knocking out apparel, swimwear and shoes and concentrate on its core products; bras, panties, athletic wear and beauty products.
