CBS DETROIT - The two most venerable starting pitchers for the Detroit Tigers had a little Twitter fun at the expense of manager Brad Ausmus on Friday morning.
Ausmus, who spent 18 seasons as a major league catcher, once did a shirtless photo shoot for a magazine article. Earlier this spring, a grinning Justin Verlander referred to the pictures as "glamour shots."
When fellow Cy Young winner David Price retweeted a post Friday morning that included a photo of Ausmus posed against a surfboard and gazing contemplatively into the distance, Verlander quickly joined in the teasing.
The exchange began when Price retweeted the manager's post about a morning run and added the caption, "My manager works harder than yours!!" Someone replied and offered the photo as proof.
hahaha wow!! I'll retweet this just for Brad...RT @AndrewBolf: @DAVIDprice14 OBVIOUSLY. Go #Tigers! pic.twitter.com/8h3eUWqjTF

Verlander made sure to mention Ausmus - who got a public Twitter account for the first time earlier this spring - in his tweet. Ausmus said he would not be checking his mentions, but one imagines word of the shenanigans will get back to him.
