Traffic Alert: Construction, Emergency Repairs Cause Problems On I-94 At I-75
DETROIT (WWJ) - It's been a big mess for drivers in the area of I-94 and I-75 in Detroit between construction and emergency repairs.
At 3 p.m. I-75 was down to one lane in both directions near 94 for road work. Then, MDOT spokeswoman Diane Cross explained, they encountered a new problem.
"On 94 westbound, right near I-75, the shoulder grate that's being used as a lane right now — because of construction near Woodward — that shoulder grate has now collapsed and we've taken out a lane," Cross said. "We have to repair that tonight (Thursday); but right now we have only two lanes open on westbound 94 near 75."
Cross said she expects that problem to be repaired by 5 a.m. Friday morning.
