Tinder Adds 37 Gender Options In Newest Update
DETROIT (CBS Detroit) The most recent election seems to show an America ready for the good old days when high-paying factory jobs were easy to find, the roads were fresh and international relations were simple because they didn't exist.
You know, the days when Tinder when simply a question of swiping right or left on a woman or man.
The hook-up, er, dating app, announced a big change Tuesday, moving into the future by adding 37 new terms to its gender lexicon.
There will be more than 35 suggested genders from Tinder in the new update, including "gender fluid," "two-spirit," "pangender" and "neither," per CNet.
You can make them your profile description and swipe on users who fit the description most attractive to you. If users can't find the gender term that fits them, they can type in any term that best fits their gender identity, the company said.
"Our goal is to provide a product that gives our transgender and gender non-conforming users a better experience on Tinder," CEO Sean Rad said in a statement.
But will America embrace it? Only time will tell.
