Tim Kaine Speaks To Carpenters And Millwrights In Warren, Rally With Supporters In Taylor

DETROIT (WWJ) - Vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine is making a swing through the state to wrap up a weekend of campaigning. The Democratic running-mate of Hillary Clinton is spreading the message to get out and vote.

Kaine will speak to the Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights in Warren Sunday evening.

Mike Jackson, who is with the union, says it's time for change.

"This latest wave of Republicans has really ... they reduced unemployment benefits to the lowest amount and the fewest weeks - which hits our members particularly hard, they have taxed pensions," says Jackson.

He says Donald Trump has "a record of stiffing contractors and stiffing our members who worked for those contractors, they are working class people -- he has a history of that, he has publicly said that he supports 'right to work.'"

The Warren event is closed to the public, but Kaine will be at a rally in Taylor  (tickets are free to those who register) and will be held at the city of Taylor Fire Department at 4 p.m.
