Tigers Send Rondon To Triple-A; Release Parnell, McGehee
LAKELAND, Fla. (CBS Detroit) -- The Detroit Tigers cut their Spring Training roster to 36 players on Monday, releasing pitcher Bobby Parnell and infielder Casey McGehee, and sending pitcher Bruce Rondon to Triple-A Toledo.

Additionally, RHP Bruce Rondon has been optioned to Triple A Toledo. The #Tigers have 36 players remaining in major league camp.

After missing all of the 2014 season due to Tommy John surgery, Rondon pitched in 35 games for the Tigers last season. He recorded a 1-0 record and tallied a 5.81 ERA.
Rondon was sent home by the team with 11 games remaining in the 2015 season due to a "lack of effort." He appeared in 10 games for the Tigers during Spring Training, amassing a 9.00 ERA with 13 strikeouts in 10 innings.
Parnell signed a minor league deal with the Tigers on Feb. 18 with an invitation to the organization's major league camp. The 31-year-old was expected compete for a role in the Tigers' bullpen after serving time as closer for the New York Mets.
McGehee was signed to a minor league contract after spending seven major league seasons with six different organizations.
