Tigers Announce 2016 Spring Training Schedule

DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers today announced the club's exhibition game schedule for 2016 Spring Training in Lakeland, Florida.

Next spring will mark the Tigers 80th season at TigerTown in Lakeland, extending the longest-standing relationship between a major league team and a current Spring Training host city. The 2016 spring season marks the club's 51st consecutive season of exhibition play at Joker Marchant Stadium.

The Tigers will open the exhibition schedule on Monday, February 29 as the club plays host to Florida Southern College in the annual matchup against the Moccasins. The Tigers open the home portion of the Grapefruit League schedule against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday, March 1.

The schedule is highlighted by visits from the American League East Division Champion Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday, March 22 and 29, as well as trips from the New York Yankees on March 4 and March 31, and a visit by the National League Champion New York Mets on Monday, March 14.

Tickets for the 2016 spring exhibition season will be priced at three separate levels: Navy, Orange and White. Navy games will be held on March 4, March 8, March 9, March 14, March 17, March 22, March 29 and March 31. Orange contests will be on March 1, March 12, March 15, March 20, March 27 and April 1. White games will be played on February 29, March 6, March 21 and March 25.

Fans may also purchase season ticket plans of five-or-more games by calling (863) 686-8075.
