Thief Waits In Line Before Pulling Off Bank Robbery

GROSSE POINTE WOODS (WWJ) -- Grosse Pointe Woods Police are looking for a bold bank robber who allegedly robbed a bank on Saturday.

Lt. John Kosanke of Grosse Pointe Woods Public Safety said that the man stood in line at the Charter One Bank on Mack Ave. and waited for other customers to be served, then pulled down a ski mask, walked up to the teller and asked for the money.

"People didn't really see a lot, because they weren't really paying attention to anyone behind them, they were up at the counter making their transactions," Kosanke said. "When the people in front of them left, I believe he was the last one in the bank and that's when he walked up to the teller."

Police said that no one was hurt and that the man is believed to be in his 50's and officials have a clear picture of the suspect before he pulled down his mask from a security camera.
