'The Boy And Bear' Sculpture Moves Into New Home At Southfield Library [PHOTOS]
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ/AP) - A sculpture depicting a boy riding on the back of a bear has been moved to its new home inside the Southfield library.
Artist Marshall Fredericks' sculpture "The Boy and Bear" was moved Friday to the Southfield Public Library. It was displayed at the now-closed Northland Center mall, and it had been in storage since last year, when the city of Southfield acquired it along with other artworks that were displayed at the mall for $500,000.
The sculpture is now in the library's atrium, where there are also statues of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and Mark Twain.
