Teen Killed In Drive-By Shooting On Detroit's West Side

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police say that a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed on the city's west side Friday night.

At around 6:30 p.m., the Garden City student and a friend were walking in the area of Plymouth Rd. and Meyers when a black SUV drove past with someone inside firing shots.

The victim was hit in the head and pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives have identified two persons of interest -- a man and a woman. Police describe the man as a black male with a dark brown complexion, short black hair, wearing a blue zip-up hooded jacket with black pants and black shoes.

The woman is described as a black female, with a light brown complexion, with shoulder-length black hair and was wearing a black zip-up jacket with black and white gym shoes.

An investigation is ongoing.
