Sylvia Moy, Motown Records' First Female Writer, Producer Dies

DETROIT (WWJ) - Motown songwriter Sylvia Moy has passed away.

Originally from Detroit -- she's best known for songs "My Cherie Amour," "Uptight (Everything's Alright)" and "I Was Made To Love Her" for Stevie Wonder. Moy worked as the first female writer and producer for Motown Records.

She also worked with Marvin Gaye, the Isley Brothers and Michael Jackson.

In 2006, Moy was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Family says Moy died from an illness Saturday.
