Suspension Recommended For Psychologist In Licensing Case
LANSING, Mich. (AP) - A state Psychology board disciplinary subcommittee has recommended permanent suspension for a psychologist accused of not reporting past rape and armed robbery convictions in a 1993 application to practice in Michigan.
The decision was part of a consent order Thursday involving Fort Wayne, Indiana-based Francis John Deisler.
Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs spokesman Michael Loepp says Deisler accepted the order.
The agency filed an administrative complaint in May stating that Deisler was convicted in 1973 in Wisconsin of rape and armed robbery and in 1974 of rape, burglary and attempted burglary.
The complaint states "no" was marked on his Michigan application for a license when asked of past convictions.
The Associated Press left a message Thursday seeking comment from Deisler's attorney.
