Suspect In Slippers Robs Roseville 7-Eleven
ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - Police in Roseville are searching for the suspect behind an early morning robbery at a convenience store.
The incident happened around 4:20 a.m. Friday at the 7-Eleven on the corner of Groesbeck Highway and 12 Mile Road.
Police say the suspect entered the store, approached the employee and demanded money from the cash register. The suspect kept his left hand in his shorts' pocket during the incident, an action indicating that he had a weapon, according to police -- although no weapon was actually seen.
The employee complied with his demand and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. He then fled the scene on foot, heading southbound.
Police responded to the scene and searched the area, but found no sign of the suspect. K-9 units were able to follow the suspect's trail to a nearby parking lot where it ended.
The suspect is described as a white male about 30- to 40-years-old, 6'3" to 6'6" tall with a thin build and blond hair. He was wearing a light red shirt, checkered pattern shorts and slippers.
Police are trying to obtain security footage from the store and nearby businesses in an attempt to identify the suspect.
Anyone with information on the incident or the suspect is urged to contact police at 586-775-2100.
