Street Beat: Great Lakes Bat Festival And Environment

On Saturday, September 19, 2015, Street Beat host Karen Carter learns how we can help and enjoy the world around us.

First, Carter gets up close and personal with Kamilah, a Malayan bat from South America, and Rob Mies, the Executive Director of the Organization for Bat Conservation.

Then Carter learns about the School for Outdoor Leadership, Adventure and Recreation or SOLAR from Jennifer Tislerics, SOLAR President, and SOLAR Member Jeff McWilliams.

Next, Howell Conference & Nature Center Director Dana DeBenham and Leah Bennett, founding board member from The Spirit of Alexandria Foundation, talk about the Nature Center and the new Tree House under construction.

Finally, Carter finds out how you can go on a bug hunt from Sally Petrella, Volunteer Monitoring Program Manager with the Friends of the Rouge.
