Police: 2 People Fatally Shot On Southfield Freeway Overpass

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police are investigating the scene of a fatal shooting on Detroit's west side that caused some major traffic delays.

The Seven Mile Road overpass across the M-39 Southfield freeway has been shut down in both directions due to the shooting, Detroit police told WWJ Newsradio 950, where two people have been shot and killed.

Police say the victims were a man and a woman.

The investigation has also spilled over to the freeway, closing all southbound lanes of the freeway at Eight Mile Road.

Drivers are being told to avoid the area.
