Search Continues For Missing Detroit Teen

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are asking for help from the public to find a 19-year-old Detroit man who has been missing since Friday.

Onajae Jones' mother, Shawna Lancaster, says she's especially worried because Jones suffered a head injury as a child - leaving him with the mental capacity of a 9-year-old.

Lancaster says she doesn't know what happened to her son.

"I don't know if he befriended some people in the neighborhood, you know, bad seeds in the neighborhood, or something, but I know the day before he was gone all day hanging out ... he said he was with his friends. And so the next morning I went to work and when I come home he wasn't here," said Lancaster.

Onajae was last seen wearing black shoes, camouflage pants and a red-beige jacket. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jones is asked to contact police.

Anyone with information can please call the 8th Precinct Detectives Unit at 313-596-5640 or by submitting a tip through DPD Connect.
