The Tigers apparently are busy before the winter meetings even start.
The initial report about something big in the works came from WFAN's New York Yankees beat writer Sweeny Murti.
Murti says the Yankees are exploring a three-team trade that would involve the Yankees, Tigers and Diamondbacks.

His tweet says the Tigers would land Shane Greene from the Yankees and the Tigers would have to give up two pitchers.
One pitcher named is Robbie Ray, whom the Tigers traded Doug Fister for last offseason.
DBacks will acquire Robbie Ray and an infielder from the Tigers in this trade.

Ray pitched most of the season with the Toledo Mud Hens, for the Tigers Ray appeared made nine appearances, six of them starts. Ray had a 8.16 ERA.

Aug. 27 Greene also pitched against the Tigers going 7 innings, giving up two earned runs with eight strike outs. Greene won both games.
For 2014, Greene started 15 games for the Yankees and held a 3.78 ERA with 81 strike outs and 29 walks.
