Roseville Radio Shack Robbed At Gunpoint [VIDEO]

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - Some intense surveillance video has been released as police search for two suspects in a bold armed robbery.

According to Roseville police, two suspects appeared to be shopping while apparently waiting for most other customers to leave so they could hold up a Radio Shack store at 26290 Gratiot, shortly before 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

When the store was nearly clear, robber number one walked up to the crash register, pulled a gun, and a store employee's heard. Police say the clerk handed over some money from the register; and then the suspects, at gunpoint,  took the employee and a lone 14-year-old customer to an office in the back. The suspects demanded the employee open a storage area for cell phones, and they took several.

Seeming to be satisfied with their loot, police said the suspects handcuffed the teen to a chair, led the employee to the bathroom, and wedged the door shut.

Roseville Deputy Chief Don Glandon said he doesn't think this was the suspects' first robbery.

"Because these individuals came in prepared," he told WWJ's Russ McNamara. "You know, they brought a set of handcuffs with them ... So, even though we haven't tied it in to other incidents, I don't believe this was their first time doing such an activity."

The robbers fled the area on foot, walking west across Gratiot. They were last seen in the area of Gratiot and Wildwood a few minutes after the incident.  A Roseville K-9 unit wasn't able to track them.

Suspect number one is a black male with a dark complexion, approximately 18 to 23 years old. He's around 6 feet tall, and 150-180 lbs., with short, afro-style hair, and clean-shaven.  He was wearing a white Chicago Bulls baseball-style hat, a black hooded sweatshirt with a red hood and sleeves, black pants and white gym shoes, and was carrying a black semiautomatic handgun he pulled from his front waistband.

His accomplice is described as a black male with a dark complexion, also around 18 to 23 years, 6 feet tall, and 150-180 lbs. with short, afro-style hair, and clean-shaven. He was wearing a white or gray baseball hat, a black hooded sweatshirt with a white insignia on the back, black pants and white gym shoes. He was carrying a gray or black Nike duffle bag.

Glandon said these men are dangerous.

"These are two individuals that we'd definitely like to be able to get off the street," he said. "They did come in and commit an armed robbery, a weapon displayed, and subdued and, you know, held these individuals against their will..."

No one was injured.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Roseville police at 586-447-4502.
